Position Summary:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Health Information Management Clerk provides an integrated support service that will encompass the creation and management of the patient health record. The Health Information Management Clerk is responsible for ensuring the health record is accessible for all internal and external customers, registration of all inpatients, ECT and various outpatient in-person and virtual registrations, bed allocation, accuracy of ADT census activity, and quantitative analysis of all patient documents with the electronic health record. 



Qualifications:

Minimum of one year related experience in a healthcare environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience – required

Previous experience in a Health Record Department or Admitting Department an asset

Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment

Excellent organizational and time management skills; detail oriented

Ability to work independently and as an effective team member

Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable in a changing work environment

Excellent communication skills; Proficiency in French language is an asset



Education and/or Certification:

Graduate of a Medical Secretarial Program – preferred

Medical Terminology – required (mandatory test)

Minimum typing 40 wpm – required (mandatory test)
