Position Summary:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, Regional Children’s Centre Intensive Treatment Services department, the Child and Youth Worker II is responsible for the delivery of care to clients and families of the organization that is consistent with the vision and values of the organization. The CYW II complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Standards for HDGH and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment.



Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a fully qualified Child and Youth Worker - Preferred

Demonstrated interpersonal skills with community agency representative, other professionals, children and their families

Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams internally and in community settings

Strong judgment and reasoning skills, along with well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills

Willingness and ability to respond to parents and the community in an expeditious, courteous, helpful manner

Thorough understanding of confidentiality when dealing with children/youth and families

French Language proficiency is an asset

Must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License with the use of a car and insurance in accordance with Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare policy



Education and/or Certification:

Must possess a diploma as a Child and Youth Worker from a Canadian Community College or University which offers a recognized Child and Youth Worker training - Required
